The present book “Aristotle in the Tradition of Eastern and Western Aesthetics” is an humble attempt of Dr. Swetapadma Satapathy in this regard. This book gives an understanding regarding the theories and doctrines propounded by the Eastern as well as Western literary critics particularly in respect of creation and critical analysis of literary works. There are six chapters in toto in this book and each chapter deals with a specific area concerning eastern and western aesthetics. The contributions made by Aristotle (34 B.C.) particularly through his book “The Poetics” regarding literary criticism have been highlighted and similar thoughts articulated by his eastern counterparts have also found place in this book.
