Acharya Sushruta pioneer of Rachana Shareera presented the science of Nakh. Shareera in the chapter “Garbhavakranti nama shareera -Su.Sharir3/30” under which he tried to emphasize the concept of Nakh along with fundamental science. While composing the Anatomical and Physiological Sciences Ayurvedic Nakh thought much for the basic constituents of the body and their substratum. The value of understanding other related sciences (basic as well as applied) along with the main subject was well recognized. There fore considering message & guideline of the following shloka from the Sushrut Samhita.

एकं शास्त्रमधीयानो च विद्याच्छास्त्रनि…..
तस्माद् बहुश्रुतः शास्त्रं विजानियाचिकित्सकः ।। (सु.सू. 4/7)

Meaning :- नख {Nakh) = DRIFT(Noun)
