CompareDescription
History of Ayurveda The history of any knowledge stream is significant as it paves the way for the future. In the Indian knowledge tradition, history or Itihasa is considered as an adjuvant to Veda. The knowledge of Vedas is enriched through Itihasa and Purana. As said ‘इतिहासपुराणाभ्यां वेदं समुपबृंहयेत्’ |
In the past there used to be a separate paper of Ayurveda Itihasa bearing 100 mark. This was subsequently revised and the subject was included under the Padartha Vijñāna Paper II having a weightage of 25 mark. With the formation of NCISM and the revision of the syllabus recently, the subject of Ayurveda Itihasa has been made a part of Sanskrit paper II. The weightage of mark is also reduced to 20 mark. All the questions from this subject shall be only in the MCQ format only.
Therefore, the author thought it necessary to bring a book useful to the students and in tandem with the new syllabus and pattern specified in the NCISM notification. This book entitled History of Ayurveda (Ayurveda Itihasa) aims to help the BAMS first professional students understand the subject in a simple manner and succeed in the examination without fear.
