Illustrated Caraka Samhita Volume 2 Caraka Samhita is considered as one of the best compendia in the literature of Ayurveda and hence it has been given the status of Brhattrayī. This treatise contains eight sections and 120 chapters’ viz. Sūtrasthāna (30), Nidānasthāna (08), Vimānasthāna (08), Šārīrasthāna (08), Indriyasthāna (12), Cikitsāsthāna (30), Kalpasthāna (12) and Siddhisthāna (12). According to CCIM Syllabus the entire Caraka Samhitā has been divided into 2 parts as Pūrvārtha and Uttarārtha. In the 2nd year BAMS, the students will be taught Pūrvārtha which covers Sūtrasthāna, Nidānasthāna, Vimānasthāna, Śārīrasthāna, Indriyasthāna. The first volume contains Sūtrasthāna only and was published. This is the second volume and it contains the remaining sections of Pūrvārtha such as Nidānasthāna, Vimānasthāna, Šārīrasthāna and Indriyasthāna. This book is having the unique feature of presentation of nearly 800 pictures and also tables and line diagrams for easy understanding of the core concepts of the subject even by mediocre students. The book is also supplemented with the annexures such as Important essay questions and short notes, Alphabetical index of Herbs with their botanical names, Glimpses of Nidānasthāna, Vimānasthāna, Śārīrasthāna and Indriyasthāna for the benefit of students.
